Terrorist arrested after attack that wounded two others
Yehuda Guetta, a 19-year-old yeshivah student from Jerusalem, died of a gunshot wound to the head that he received on Sunday while waiting at a bus stop near his school in Itamar, in northern Samaria. Two of his friends were also injured in the attack.
The terrorist gunman responsible was apprehended by the Israel Defense Forces, Israeli Police and Shin Bet intelligence agency after hiding out since Sunday in a village near Nablus.
Guetta was a student at a hesder yeshivah that combines advanced Talmudic study and military service.
“He was such an intelligent boy, and he was also incredibly industrious and serious about everything he did,” his mother, Milka Guetta, told Israel’s Army Radio. “He was devoted to Torah learning and also to his fellow Jews.”
Yehuda Guetta was laid to rest today at Har HaMenuchot cemetery in Jerusalem. He is survived by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
