New Director for Cheder Menachem in Pennsylvania

The Cheder Menachem school in the thriving Chabad community of Kingston, Pennsylvania, has announced the hiring of a new Director.

Rabbi Yossi Baumgarten, who served as the Assistant Director of Development at Bais Rivkah School in Crown Heights for the past 3 years, will be assuming the title of Director at the school which currently serves the 70+ families in the area.

Cheder Menachem, founded a number of years ago with several families, has grown to a school with over 160 children from preschool through 8th grade with separate tracks for boys and girls.

Rabbi Baumgarten will be joining over 30 incredible and dedicated teachers and other faculty members who devote their life to Chinuch of “Tinokos Shel Beis Rabon.”

The school seeks to create an environment where each student is given the space for strengths to shine and for weaknesses to be addressed. The administration and faculty of Cheder Menachem combine contemporary educational methodology with fundamental Torah precepts that best facilitate the internalization of Torah values and knowledge.

Rabbi Baumgarten says he looks forward to building on his extensive experience to help bring the school to an even higher level of educational excellence.

“There is no greater accomplishment or Shlichus then being a part of the Chinuch of the next generation of Yiddishe and Chasidishe Kinderlach, our future!” Rabbi Baumgarten says.

The burgeoning Chabad community, which already boasts a beautiful shul, kosher grocery store, and even a pizza shop, began just a few short years ago in the beautiful Wyoming Valley of the Pocono Mountains. It has been steadily growing since its founding, with many Chabad families moving from New York and elsewhere looking for a pleasant community with a relatively low cost of living, affordable Chinuch and a Chasidishe environment.

The community continues to grow, as the cost of living in the New York metropolitan area sky-rockets, and many families are choosing to relocate to Kingston for its friendly environment and beautiful surroundings.

Rabbi Baumgarten, who founded the large Unzer Shul congregation in Crown Heights, will be making the move with his wife and children. He said he will also be focusing on helping to build and grow the Chabad community in Kingston, relying on his extensive experience in this area as well.
